Mexico Day

Hola! For part of our Geography topic on Mexico we decided to have a fiesta today. We dressed in Mexican style clothes, learned a salsa dance, did Mexican themed art and craft, learned some Spanish words and tasted Mexican food. What a great day!!! Adios amigos!

On 15th June we visited Kirkley Hall Zoo as part of our science topic of "Animal Habitats" We saw lots of different animals from around the world and also observed woodland animals. What a great day!

Year 2 visited the Centre for Life on 29th March. We had an 'Alive in Space' workshop where we thought about which objects on an unknown planet might be alive and how we would know and which items would be useful to take into space with us. We then visited the Planetarium. Finally we looked around the Life Centre itself. What a great day!

We had fun in the snow today!

Remembrance Day

Mr Gardiner came into class to show us his dad's medals from the Second World War.

Some images from Christmas celebrations this year - our joint Nativity 'Midwife Crisis' and our Year 1 and 2 Christmas party with Disco Don!! Merry Christmas from Mrs Hankin, Mrs Crilley and Miss McMaster and all of year 2. Thank you for all of our cards and presents - much appreciated! Happy New Year!

We have been learning songs with Mrs Banning, as have Reception and Year 1. Today we performed with and to each other.

On 15th November as part of our Humanities topics we visited the War Memorial in Wylam and George Stephenson's Cottage.

We visited 'Seven Stories' on 19th October. We looked at 'Rhyme Around the World' and the Beatrix Potter exhibition. We wrote and listened to rhymes, got dressed up, played games based on 'Hey Diddle Diddle' and had lots of fun!!

Remember on Thursday morning (9th March) we are building bridges (from 9.10 a.m). Parents/grandparents/helpers welcome!!
