Christmas in Year 2 has been very busy. We hope you all enjoyed our Nativity Play, 'Children of the World'. We have also been remembering the first Christmas with the travelling crib.
We visited the War Memorial in Wylam as we have been learning about the First World War. We have also been learning about George Stephenson and we walked along to see the cottage where he was born.
On Tuesday 6th October we had a tennis taster session. We learned new skills and had a lot of fun!
On Tuesday 13th October we visited Washington Arts Centre to see a performance of 'The Bear and the Butterfly'. This linked to our science topics of life cycles, animals and their habitats and seasonal changes.
Today we have been bridge engineers! Lots of mams, dads, grandparents and aunties came in to help us. We had loads of fun making them!
In Year 2 we use talk partners to share ideas, talk about our work and assess each others' work. It is important to face your talk partner, listen carefully and speak clearly.
Mr Gardiner came to show us his father's medals and photos from the second world war as we were learning about Remembrance Day.
