End of Term
Our last week has been filled with lots of fun activities. On Monday afternoon the whole school took part in the St Agnes' open air concert, which was fantastic. We all agree that year 1 would make fantastic pirates! On Tuesday afternoon, as a special treat, Mr Laidler arranged for the whole school to have a visit from the ice-cream van. As you can see from the pictures we all enjoyed this very much.
Reception and Key Stage 1 Trip
Reception, year 1 and year 2 enjoyed a summer trip to Newburn Park and Leisure Centre. We all had great fun playing in the park and enjoyed different activities such as kwik cricket, football, softplay and dance mats. We finished the day with an ice-cream. Everyone had a great time.
St Marys Lighthouse
This week year one visited St Marys Lighthouse. It was very exciting for us as it was the first time we had travelled on our new school minibuses. When we first arrived we went into the lighthouse and we climbed all the way to the top (all 137 steps!!), it was worth it for the amazing views. We were even able to spot some seals resting on the rocks, if you look closely at one of our photos you might be able to spot them. After lunch we had lots of fun rockpooling, we went of in our groups with a bucket and net to explore, we managed to find some crabs, winkles, shrimps and an anemone. We then went on to the beach where we made some sand art pictures using only natural things that you find on the beach. We had a brilliant time and we were all sad when it is was time to come home.
Year one had a visit from the fire brigade this week to talk to us about the dangers of fire and how to stay safe. At the end of the talk we had lots of fun dressing up as real fire fighters.
Our Visit to Kirkley Zoo
We had lots of fun looking at the different animals. We enjoyed a woodland walk and also got to hold and stroke guinea pigs and rabbits
